Using ICT in Schools: Addressing Teacher Workload Issues Research Information This research will investigate the ways in which ICTs can be used to reduce teacher workloads, based on lessons from case study schools which are deemed to have an effective ICT strategy. This will incorporate ICT use by teachers and support staff for planning, administration and teaching tasks. The research will investigate effective school strategies for the deployment of ICTs within the school, including training and support structures. It should also, where possible, seek to quantify any resulting time savings.

Qualifications of Staff in LSC-funded Provision Research Information DfES’ “Success For All” strategy document (November 2002) for post-16 learning contains a commitment to obtain “accurate, reliable” data on qualifications of those employed in post-16, LSC-funded learning by March 2004. MI systems to collect such data are not be in place and cannot be introduced by the deadline. Thus a sample survey of staff in FE, Work Based Learning and Adult & Community Learning is needed to collect data on qualifications and other characteristics.

This Framework covers inspections of ITT for Qualified Teacher Status over the six-year period between 2005/06 and 2010/11. Primary and secondary training will be inspected separately, and each of these phases will normally be inspected twice during this period. The inspection programme will differentiate according to the quality of the provision in its previous inspection. Inspections will usually be separated by three years.
